Feb. 4 (Bloomberg) — Dallas Stars owner Tom Hicks is exploring a possible sale of the National Hockey League team, less than two weeks after agreeing to sell baseball’s Texas Rangers.

Rangers catching prospect Tomas Telis, who made his U.S. debut last year at the age of 17, is expected to miss all of 2010 after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his right elbow.

Received the 2010 Baseball America Prospect Handbook in the mail yesterday. If you are a minor league junkie and don't have one, I can't endorse it enough. Lots of good stuff and BA remains the industry leader in analyzing the draft and minor league organizations.

One of the most interesting stories of the 2009 baseball season was the Texas Rangers. Picked by most (including your man Freddy) to be at the back of the AL West they had a fine season and even led the division as late as July 10th.From there the Rangers stumbled a bit going 39-38 and getting overwhelmed by an Angel team in the midst of a strong finishing kick (50-28). As 2010 dawns with the Angels having lost several key players and the Mariners still unproven the Rangers are being consider…

As we creep closer to the start of spring training (it's THIS MONTH!), I've finally started bringing my website up to speed. I'm unfortunately still unemployed from last May, and I found, despite the free time, I wasn't always in the mood to work on my websites.
